Farmhouse Extension, Rothienorman, Aberdeenshire
McGregor Garrow Architects were appointed to design a contemporary single storey extension to this old farmhouse, in Aberdeenshire.
We produced a series of designs, as part of the Feasibility Study, where we demonstrated the design options with floor plans and visualisations. The client decided to proceed with a timber clad storey extension to provide an open plan plan Kitchen/Dining/Family space. Large sliding doors open out onto a new Terrace, to provide an external space for relaxing and taking in the beautiful surroundings.
McGregor Garrow Architects were employed to provide full architectural services from conception to completion. Following the Feasibility Study, we obtained the planning and building warrant approvals, from the council. We then arranged a competitive tender, with local builders providing fixed tender costs for carrying out the works. Having accepted the chosen builder, McGregor Garrow Architects carried out regular inspections during the construction phase. Meeting with the client and builder to ensure the building was built as per the contract and acting as contract Administrator.
The extension was completed in January 2017.
